The Ministry of Science Technology and Research requested the Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau (CECB) and the Central Engineering Services (Pvt) Ltd (CESL) to contribute to development of a Techno-Park (Science Exploratorium) at the Colombo Planetarium premises to commemorate of the centenary birth of Deshabandu Vidyajothi Dr. A.N.S. Kulasinghe - eminent engineer, scientist, inventor, and former Chairman, CECB.
Considering the contributions of Deshabandu Vidyajothi Dr. A.N.S. Kulasinghe to CECB and to the nation, the Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau, and the Central Engineering Services (Pvt) Ltd jointly conceptualized, designed, funded, and constructed the Science Exploratorium costing Rs. 6.5million as our Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives for the year 2019.
The park was ceremoniously opened on 04th November 2019 with the participation of Hon. Sujeewa Senasinghe, Minister of Science, Technology & Research and under the patronage of His Excellency Maithripala Sirisena, President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
