Flood Relief and Sanitation Support Programmes undertaken by CESL - 2017

Kalutara District was one of the worst affected districts that suffered due to heavy monsoon flooding and mudflow in May 2017. The heavy rains caused the Kalu Ganga river to overflow triggering several Mudflows downstream and covering schools and houses with mud along the way. The Government implemented several flood and disaster relief programmes to affected people and area.
The Central Engineering Services (Pvt) Ltd as a socially conscious corporate citizen involved in community development quickly teamed to bring normalization in the affected areas. COE (WP1) and COE (WP2) team undertook cleaning and sanitizing Kalutara Molkawa Maha Vidyalaya, furniture, drinking water well, and premises.
Furthermore, COE (WP2) team contributed cleaning and sanitizing Bulathsinhala Nikgaha Primary School, Buddhist Shrine, drinking water well, furniture, premises, and fencing. They also cleaned and repaired houses in Yatagampitiya Village.
