The Deputy Minister of Lands and Irrigation, Hon. Aravinda Senarath, recently visited to CECB and CESL

 

The Deputy Minister of Lands and Irrigation, Hon. Aravinda Senarath, paid an official visit to the Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau (CECB) and Central Engineering Services (Pvt) Ltd (CESL) recently.

This marked his first visit to the institutions following his assumption of duties. During the visit, the Deputy Minister participated in a comprehensive discussion with senior management of the both institutions, where he was briefed on the projects currently being implemented as well as those proposed initiatives for future implementation by both institutions.

Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Minister commended the significant contribution made by CECB and CESL towards national development. He emphasized that the highly skilled engineers and officers serving in these institutions are valuable national assets and highlighted the need for these institutions to play a more direct role in the country’s development initiatives. He further assured that any institutional challenges or shortcomings would be addressed promptly.

The Deputy Minister also inspection visit to the CESL Head Office located in Jawatta and engaged in cordial discussions with staff members.

The visit was attended by Eng. A. P. Jayatissa, Chairman of CECB and CESL; Eng. S. A. U. D. C. Siriwardena, General Manager of CECB; Eng. Anura Semasinghe, Chief Executive Officer of CESL; together with Heads of departments and other officials from both institutions also participated in the event.
