Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya Celebrates 75 Years

 

The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Peradeniya proudly celebrated its 75th anniversary with a grand exhibition titled “EngEx2025”, held recently at the Engineering premises.
The event brought together a wide range of state and private sector institutions, including Central Engineering Services (Pvt) Ltd (CESL), which showcased a special exhibition booth highlighting its latest technological services.
Particular focus was placed on the promotion of Geospatial Engineering and Digital Engineering in Sri Lanka, with advanced tools and demonstrations drawing the attention of visitors. Both school students and university undergraduates showed great enthusiasm at the CESL booth, engaging with modern equipment and gaining valuable knowledge.
School students, in particular, were highly attracted to the displays, while university students also expressed strong interest, underscoring the potential of these technologies to inspire the younger generation and strengthen their future aspirations in engineering.
Marking 75 years of excellence, “EngEx2025” was a significant milestone in promoting engineering education and cutting-edge technologies within the country.
The occasion was graced by Eng. A.P. Jayatissa, Chairman of CESL, Eng. Anura Semasinghe, Chief Executive Officer of CESL, along with a large team of officials from the organization, whose participation added further value to the exhibition.
