The new District/Magistrate's Court Building at Walasmulla constructed under “Vistas of Prosperity” vision of His Excellency Gotabaya Rajapaksa, the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, was declared open by Hon. Chamal Rajapaksa, Minister of Irrigation and State Minister of National Security & Disaster Management and State Minister of Home Affairs jointly with Hon. Mohamed Ali Sabri, PC, Minister of Justice on 29th of October 2021, with the participation of the Hon. D.V. Chanaka, State Minister, Members of Parliament, Hon. Judges, Secretary to the Ministry of Justice, the President and members of the Walasmulla Bar Association, other public officials and the Engineers of the Central Engineering Services (Pvt) Ltd.

The new District/Magistrate's Court Building with a total floor area of about 759 sqm was constructed by the Central Engineering Services (Pvt) Ltd., for the client Ministry of Justice at the cost of Rs. 62 million. The new court building provides the main Court Hall with Cells, Judges Chamber, State Counsel Room, Registrar’s Office, Record Room, Production Room, Security Hut, Sanitary Facilities for Staff and other Public facilities.
