The Deputy Minister of Lands and Irrigation, Dr. Susil Ranasinghe, participated in the monthly progress review meeting of the CECB and CESL recently.

During this meeting, the heads of the institutions explained him the operations of the organizations and the Chairman of CESL, Eng. A.P. Jayatissa and Chief Executive Officer of CESL, Eng. Anura Semasinghe shared several ideas on how to steer engineering technology in a new direction by utilizing new technologies.

Additionally, the Minister was informed about the technological capabilities we have such as;

And also the promotion activities of the Abu Dhabi International Branch established by the CESL were detailed to the Minister.

Furthermore, the Minister stated the need to provide a project report on engineering surveying activities that can be conducted across Sri Lanka using the world's most advanced cutting-edge technology, Reality Capture (RTC 360), Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (Drones), Unmanned Survey Vessels for Bathymetric Survey as the leading state-affiliated construction institution in Sri Lanka and this drew attention to the potential for creating a digital data repository required for land development under a scientific methodology. The Minister also praised for solar power generation, innovative agricultural technologies and the television program we launched, which focuses on the provision of technical services to the general public free of charge.
